As a lifelong motorsports diehard, Rob Howden finally found his true passion when he answered an ad in Canada’s Performance Racing News magazine looking for people to pitch renewal offers to subscribers in the evening. This quickly led to a position as a cub reporter, and then 20+ years whizzed by a track record speed. Rob has been writing about kart racing and open wheel formula car racing since 1993, working for publications such as PRN, National Kart News and Inside Track Motorsports News before publishing his own trio of magazines – Shifter Kart Illustrated, Speedway USA and FormulaCar Magazine. The website eKartingNews.com – the online hub of North American kart racing – was added in 2004 and the sister site eFormulaCarNews.com was spun off to support junior open wheel formula car racing. This blog replaces EFCN as Howden’s canvas for automobile racing editorial and commentary. Rob has also written for Performance Racing Industry Magazine and has worked with talented drivers such as Josef Newgarden and Gabby Chaves as they worked their way up the ladder to the Verizon IndyCar Series. When an open weekend makes itself available, Rob will also jump behind the wheel himself, participating in kart racing events in his home province of Ontario or at tracks throughout the United States.
